Nancy Ann Buss, 69, of Lincoln, RI passed away peacefully with her husband Joseph by her side after fighting against pulmonary hypertension for 11 years.

Nancy is survived by her father, Irving Dolan; Her husband, Joseph Buss of 40 years; her children, Jenny (Buss) D’Agostino and husband Edward, and Katie Buss and her husband Jude Hueber; her brother William Dolan and his wife Grace; and last but not least, the 4 loves of her life, her grandchildren Ivy, Forest, Julia,
and Bailey. She is predeceased by her mother Mary (Berouty) Dolan.

Nancy was born and raised in Pawtucket, RI, where she met her future husband Joe. Nancy was exceptional at math and from a young age found work as a bookkeeper at several local businesses throughout the years including Doyle’s Sports Center and Service Vending, where she made many lifelong friends. Her final bookkeeping position, from which she retired in 2014, was at St. Raphael’s Academy in Pawtucket. At ‘Saints’ Nancy found her calling helping the families who were less fortunate to find scholarships and financing to attend the academy. In addition to her work at Saints,
Nancy took pride in helping collect toys, clothing, and cold weather gear throughout the year to donate to the drives at St. Jude’s over the holidays.

Nancy’s other passion was hunting for bargains, and would be offended if you ever bought something without a coupon. What she loved most about it was shopping for others. She had a particular talent for always picking the perfect gifts for people. At Christmas time (and any other holiday) she would light up watching her family open their gifts. She would then make the most delicious chocolate cream pie in RI.

Nance was also known for her ability to hold multiple conversations at once, and could ask you 20 questions in a matter of minutes. One might say to be interrogated by Nance was to be loved by her.

The only thing that could keep Nancy from shopping was a chance to spend time with her grandchildren. Lovingly known to them as ‘Nance”, she was the best snack sneaker, toy giver, and book reader around. She never missed a chance to see them and celebrate their milestones, even if that meant driving 13 hours to Ohio.

Nancy was diagnosed with a life changing autoimmune disease called CREST in 2009. Nancy survived against all odds for 11 years and never let her disease get her down and even fashioned a variety of waist pouches to hold her medicine to go with every occasion. We are so thankful to all of her medical team of doctors and nurses for helping take care of her for so many years, specifically Dr. James Klinger and Dr. David Marcoux.

It goes without saying that Nance will be missed for many years to come by all her many friends and family. Life will certainly never be the same without her.

Donations can be made in her honor to the Pulmonary Hypertenstion
Association.
